About the Position:

The Director, Application Engineering, reports to the Chief Revenue Officer and serves as the primary technical authority for Solution design, engineering, and technical proposal content for bids and proposals and includes supervisory responsibility for the Sales Engineering team. The Director, Application Engineering, is also the senior technical mentor for the team, ensuring consistency across the engineering approach and practices, conducting peer reviews, and ensuring accurate scoping and assumptions in designs.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) a plus.

15+ years of micro-grid electrical power or combination of experience in application engineering, systems engineering, systems architect, or technical proposal experience and experience with automation and control systems, e.g SCADA systems.

Advanced understanding of industrial control equipment (metering, protective relaying, relay ladder logic, Programmable Logic Controllers - PLCs and HMI’s)

Design experience in the below categories: Advanced Instrumentation & Controls circuitry analysis. Hands on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC or PAC) integration, multi platforms. Medium Voltage Switchgear cabling and wiring design. Medium Voltage Switchgear Controls Integrations, including Protection Relays, multi platforms.

Certified (ETT Level II or higher) in electrical equipment testing.

Experience in preventative and predictive maintenance of power distribution and control equipment. Experience to include installing, maintaining, testing, & repairing circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, and similar electrical equipment

Strong Field and Design experience in the below in the below categories: Advanced Instrumentation & Controls circuitry analysis. Advanced Power circuitry analysis. Hands on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC or PAC) integration, multi platforms. Medium Voltage Switchgear cabling and wiring design

Medium Voltage Switchgear Controls Integrations, including Protection Relays, multi platforms.

Knowledge of electrical power distribution, switchgear controls, system grounding designs, and a strong understanding of all applicable/associated National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements of these systems.

Knowledge of low & medium voltage transformers, switchgear, and power/control systems.

Competency in computer operation for engineering design programs (i.e. AutoCAD).

Knowledge of electrical power distribution, switchgear controls, system grounding designs, and a strong understanding of all applicable/associated National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements of these systems.

Knowledge of low & medium voltage transformers, switchgear, and power/control systems.

Power, Controls, and Utility systems experience.
