Responsibilities for this position include:
Regularly communicate with management regarding work in progress, strategies, opportunities, progress on initiatives and special assignments.
Oversee assignments, strategies and preparation of estimates and proposals for assigned projects.
Participate in and oversee the preparation of estimates and proposals for assigned projects according to “Professional Estimating” processes. Ensure all project specific considerations and assumptions have been analyzed, costs are accurate and proposal letter clearly communicates and qualifies the bid.
Participate in and oversee value engineering of new or alternate materials, means and methods of construction.
Participate in and oversee the qualification of proposals from suppliers, subcontractors; participate in the procurement process, as directed.
Develop and make suggestions to upper management for continuous improvement pertaining to estimating standards and procedures.
Oversee the follow-up on bids by assigned personnel, assist in converting hot jobs to pending.
Prepare turnover packages and collaborate in successful kick-off meetings. Engage with operations to thoroughly communicate bid scope and strategy.
Assist in updating the Company’s estimating database.
To be successful in this position, the candidate must have:
10 plus years of commercial metal framing and drywall construction experience in Estimating.
Strong working knowledge of and experience with OST and QuickBid or similar estimating software.
Ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings, schedules, and specifications.
Knowledge of construction budgets, scheduling, and estimating, and value engineering.
Strong leadership and management abilities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
High level of organization, multi-tasking, and analytical skills.
Extraordinary attention to detail.
