About the Position:
The Project Manager/Estimator (PM) is responsible for one or more projects as assigned and reports to the appropriate company executive. The PM provides the leadership required to execute the project and is the face of the company to all project participants, including other subcontractors, the GC (if one is present), the owner and the permitting authorities. The PM has the responsibility of the complete project, including cost, schedule, quality and safety. It is the PM’s responsibility that the goals set for each of these areas and agreed upon in the contract and project execution plan is achieved. All these areas are measured and reviewed with the PM on a regular basis. The PM controls the project supported by administration, Project Foreman, engineering, warehouse and the accounting department. The PM has the obligation to keep the project team focused and working productively.
Take ownership of the project in the pre-construction phase.
Handle change order estimates for scope changes on assigned projects.
When assigned, estimate both design-build and plans/spec projects.
Developing, and approving the project budget and plan.
Understand the overall project schedule, contract, plans and specs, including the other trades scopes of work.
Know and understand the contract terms and conditions.
Create plan, bid and buy out all materials and equipment required for the project.
Ensure that the Foreman has a process for purchasing job materials.
Bid/Negotiate and execute all subcontracts for a project.
Handle all shop drawings, approvals and issue.
Ensure that the Foreman and filed team understand the site safety requirements and have a plan for safety.
Manages multiple projects through the Foreman and other team members as assigned.
Responsible for attending job progress meetings and updates of job progress on regular basis internally and with the client.
Responsible for the site mobilization plan and special equipment requirements.
Overall project leadership, organization and management.
As-built documents development and submission.
Ambassador and representative of company and team on each project.
